Teenhelp

Teenhelp.com recently posted an article regarding teen pregnancy, explaining that the United States currently holds the highest ten pregnancy rate in the Western world. It expresses the fact that 79% of teens who become pregnant are not married, which can sometimes result in a one parent family, concluding that it will make it extremely difficult for the teen mother to become as successful in life as she could be on her own. In terms of the economy, the United States spends an average of $7 billion each year on teen pregnancy alone.

  1. I believe that if a teenage girl becomes pregnant it is her choice whether or not to be successful, or at least try to be successful. Having a child does not prevent you from getting an education, it might make it more difficult but it is possible. I think setting up programs within schools that have high teenage pregnancy rates would be a good way to decrease the $7 billion a year the US spends. I think more young girls need to be encouraged by their families, friends and teachers to stay in school, rather than being discouraged and drop out.
