These financial deficits put the country in a larger hole because $1.5 billion dollars is needed each year to help with teen pregnancies, and only $100 million is received, causing more state and federal debt. This also has a negative effect on the economy. I think if people care less about money and more about others, this problem would not be such a challenge to solve.

  1. You need to provide a source for your information or at least a link to where it is from. How does this have a negative effect on the economy?

  2. Should teen pregnancy be a federal issue? Is it really the responsibility of the national government or even the state to aid pregnant teens? Surely, they receive financial help from smaller state government organizations and from their parents. Personally, I think the burden should not fall on the national governments shoulders.
